Studio Contro
Where Creatives and Community Builders Come Together.
As a Community Programming Resident at Studio Contro, Cue the Record curates intentional listening sessions, selector‑driven DJ sets, and record store pop‑ups that turn passive hearing into communal experience. We layer each program with story—history, samples, social context—while opening the floor to emerging selectors and culture workers. Centering hi‑fi analog sound and adaptive, community‑responsive add‑ons (from workshops to collaborative events), the residency deepens relationships and broadens access to the cultural life of Brooklyn.
Studio Contro is artist‑first and creativity‑centered. It creates experiences that make artists and the community feel genuinely cared for—spaces where people connect, collaborate, and push creative boundaries. Its heart is its community and a belief in the power of deep, personal relationships—especially vital in a city like New York. Contro supports progress by offering opportunities for creative talent to grow and thrive.
Grounded in Brooklyn inside a former 1920s sugar mill, the studio reflects the city’s past while helping shape new stories. It actively looks for ways to give back—uplifting young artists and community builders and working with good people on good projects.
