Sem, Co-founder, Director of Community Outreach

Semaj’ “Sem” Davis is a Detroit-born, Brooklyn-based music lover with a deep-rooted passion for sound and storytelling. Inspired by her father’s expansive CD collection, she’s been collecting physical media, CDs, vinyl, and more for over five years, keeping the joy of tangible music alive. As co-founder of Cue the Record, Sem helped shape what’s best described as a book club for music lovers, a space where people come together to listen, share, and experience music in community. Whether she’s putting folks onto hidden gems or sparking conversations that go beyond the tracklist, Sem is all about pressing play with intention.

    Ross, CFO

Ross Thompson is a Houston native currently living in Brooklyn with a deep passion for music and building community. His love for records began in his grandparents’ game room, digging through their collection and discovering sounds that would shape his own journey. Over the past three years, Ross has built an extensive vinyl collection spanning soul, funk, jazz, R&B, and hip hop. Since moving to New York, Ross has come to value community more than ever. He’s hosted events centered around music, golf, and finance—bringing people together through shared interests and creating space for meaningful connection. On weekends, you’ll likely find him browsing a local record store or out on the golf course, always sharing what he loves with the people around him.
